Oh. Hungry?
Posted by sasha on 24 Jul 2012 in just plain rambling | ∞
I just got out of a meeting, and I’m trying to figure out if I’m hungry. If I look at my journal, I’m actually quite low for today, so I probably SHOULD eat something.
But is it hunger? It feels more like anxiety. What am I anxious about? EATING!
GAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!

I wish I couldn’t relate. But I can.
No fun, is it? Why does this have to be so complicated?
I hear ya! Confusing and frustrating this ‘listening to your body’ stuff!

It’s a skill and and of itself, it really is. Hopefully one that improves with time – like exercising a muscle, right? I still think about that comment you made earlier about that – it applies to so many things.
I have started snacking on almonds with raisins (a little sweet and not so salty since my almonds have no salt). It is helping me a lot with the hungry feelings. Although today I AM SO TIRED. I am at my desk and I could seriously pass out.
Urgh. Hope you feel better! And thanks for the idea – nuts are now on the shopping list. I used to occasionally snack on cashews and chocolate chips – not nearly as healthy as raisins, but I found that the combination was more satisfying than either by itself, so it didn’t take much. But I wonder if I can get the same bang from raisins? They’re certainly less calorie-buck. Will have to give it a try! Thanks!
