Dear bloggy friends,
I miss you guys. I miss blogging. But most of the sh*t that’s going on in my head lately I can’t actually share (oh god, did I just vaguebook? Vagueblog? Sorry. I’m trying to prime the pump here, you’ll have to forgive me if nothing but sludge comes out at first. And probably for quite a while after that, too.)
<insert awkward silence>
So, um, yeah… how are you doing? I’m ok. Aside from the sh*t that I can’t talk about, which I’ll actually stop talking about now. What can I talk about? Well, the girls are back at school. Meena rides her bike, accompanied by ζach on his blue e-scooter – looks for all the world like she’s got a police escort. It’s pretty cute.
(Should I add a photo? I’ll add a photo.)
Meanwhile, I walk with Kitty to the bus stop or to school, depending on whether I’m driving or riding my bike to work. Either way, she holds my hand and tells me “you’re the best, mama” roughly every 30 seconds. I suspect she’s picked up on the way I melt every time Meena says it. (Yes, my kids are playing me like a fiddle. Or maybe more like a double-bass (i.e. larger and more unwieldy). Either way, I’m remarkably unconcerned about it.)
(In other news, they also both say “either way” about every two minutes, which is once in every four you’re-the-best-mamas, for those who are counting. Next thing you know their entire conversation will consist entirely of parenthetical asides.)
So… what else? Oh! I went to London this summer. My friend Robin had a conference to go to in Glasgow, and I said I’d go with her but then went all squidgy about it, then even after I bailed on Glasgow she thankfully was still willing to room with me in London. One of these days I’ll post pictures. But for now, here’s one that Robin took that’s my hands-down favourite, which is something I never thought I’d say about a picture with me in it:
As an interesting aside, when I first uploaded that to WordPress, it came up looking like this:
I have no idea why I needed you to know that. It simply amused me. It is possible that I am too easily amused.
So, um. That’s all I can think of. Oh wait! This happened:
I think that’s it. My life is so exciting.
